Lick Brook

Lick Brook is near the eastern edge of the Danby Section of the Finger Lake Trail System (FLT). It has very little water in it most of the time, but after heavy rains or melt-offs there's a lot.

The main trail (blue-blazed and technically no longer part of the FLT itself) leaves the white-blazed FLT and runs 0.4 miles, ascending about 500 feet up the north side of the Lick Brook gorge to the top of the third and final waterfall. The trail is very steep, especially the lower section.

Near the top of the third waterfall, the blue-blazed spur trail ends and you're back on the white-blazed Finger Lakes Trail, which continues on up beyond the lip of the third waterfall along a much shallower ravine for another 0.3 miles to Town Line Road.

For convenience, the Lick Brook photos are grouped here into four sections: the lower falls, the middle falls, the upper falls and the ravine above the main gorge.
